How are we here?
I studied to become a lawyer and spent years doing the sort of work lawyers do: reading, writing, researching and arguing.
Then I hit a wall.
The pause that followed gave me time to ask a question I had managed to avoid for quite a while: what would I actually like my working life to look like?
The answer was neither neat nor especially useful for a five-year plan. It involved cakes, movement, paper, leather, teaching parkour, and making things with my hands.
Happy Riot is where those apparently unrelated interests have ended up. Some days I am working on a cake order. Other days I am planning a parkour session, making a notebook or trying to work out why a particular piece of leather refuses to behave.
There is still structure, detail and problem-solving involved, and no, I do not have the whole route mapped out.
This is the long way around.
